Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Thursday that Hiba Abouk, the ex-wife of Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi, was unable to claim half of his fortune during their divorce proceedings.
It was revealed that Hakimi had no assets or wealth in his name as everything he owned was registered under his mother's name, including his salary from Paris Saint-Germain where he is the sixth highest paid African footballer earning over $215,000 per week.
Hakimi is currently facing preliminary charges of rape after a woman accused him of rape in February. Despite the alleged victim not wanting to file an official complaint, the police have opened an investigation into the matter.
Abouk recently spoke out about the allegations, stating that she stands with victims, and also confirmed that the separation from Hakimi occurred before he was indicted with rape.
The couple, who share a similar background, got married in 2020 and have two children together.
