Blondie rocks Coachella with nostalgic hits from the 70s and 80s

On Friday night at the Mojave tent of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Blondie took the audience on a nostalgic ride with their pop-rock hits from the 1970s and 1980s. Frontwoman Debbie Harry, dressed in a leather vest jacket, acid-washed pants, and futuristic black sunglasses, kicked off the set with their 1979 hit "One Way Or Another."

The crowd, ranging from young to old, enthusiastically sang, danced, and clapped along to the music, while the wind blowing in the tent complemented Harry's rockstar look.

During the performance, Harry also gave a shoutout to the festival-goers she had seen throughout the day, complimenting their looks and sex appeal. However, she expressed concern for those who were feeling chilly and joked that she felt overdressed.

Blondie, co-founded by Harry and guitarist Chris Stein in the mid-1970s, is famous for hits like "Heart of Glass," "Call Me," "Atomic," and "The Tide Is High." The band played hit after hit during their set, adding a heavy metal touch to "The Tide Is High" before returning to its Jamaican-style beat.

Nile Rodgers, the co-founder of Chic, later joined Blondie on stage for "Rapture" and "Backfired," improvising on the guitar for the latter after a missed ending. Despite this, the full-tent crowd continued to dance and sing along.
