Actor Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized in Atlanta due to a medical complication, according to a statement released by his daughter Corinne Foxx on Instagram.
The statement also expressed gratitude for the quick action and care he received, and requested privacy for the family. No further details were given about his condition, but some reports suggest he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday.
Foxx, 55, was in Atlanta filming Back in Action, a Netflix comedy co-starring Cameron Diaz, Andrew Scott, and Jamie Demetriou, directed by Seth Gordon.
Foxx won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, and was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor the same year for his role in Collateral. He has appeared in several other notable films, including Django Unchained and the Spider-Man franchise, and has released five albums, the most recent of which reached the US Top 10 and earned him a Grammy Award in 2010 for the single Blame It.
Foxx has two children, Corinne and Annalise Bishop.
